MILESTONE HISTORY PROJECT
Hospital Records Transferred to Archives NZ
Queen Elizabeth Hospital Community Trust recently completed another milestone history project.
Annette Burgess, chairman of Queen Elizabeth Hospital Trust, said nearly 40 years of medical records had been transferred from QE Health to the Archives New Zealand repository in Auckland.
“One of Rotorua’s most well known and respected icons Queen Elizabeth Hospital has played a pivotal role in the medical history of New Zealand for 70 years.”

60 000 pages of AJHRs added to A to Js online

As of late last week we have added another 41 volumes (60,000 pages) of AJHRs to AtoJs Online.
The collection is now complete from 1858 to 1930 (as far as we know) and stands at a little over 250,000 pages from 200 volumes. My estimate is that this just over a third of the AJHRs ever published.

The public reading room of Archives New Zealand's Christchurch office will reopen from Tuesday 12 July 2011. The opening hours are 9.30am to 1.00pm, Monday to Friday.
