James Hector's giant geological map of Otago

Over 1.5 metres wide, it is an impressive display map that former Otago graduates may recall in the Geology Museum. You can examine it online on a newly-created website and zoom in on the detail at:

These topo maps have now been made even easier to use and access through the free online service www.topomap.co.nz.
