About Me

Lucy Mackintosh is a New Zealand historian currently based in the US.  She has over ten years experience researching, evaluating and writing about historic places, cultural landscapes and material culture for environmental and heritage organisations, museums, academic institutions and Iwi in New Zealand and the United States.  Lucy is currently conducting research on artefacts collected by American traders and whalers in the Pacific in the early 19th century.  She is an Affiliated Researcher for the University of Cambridge based Artefacts of Encounter project, which is tracking artefacts collected on voyages that entered Polynesia between 1765 and 1840.
