Sandra Gorter (MA Hons English) is a freelance writer, trained at the London School of Journalism, and since 1995 has been writing about New Zealand’s fleet of historic yachts and the people who race them. She has been published in a range of national and international periodicals and newspapers including Classic Boat UK, Wooden Boat, Sailfast, New Zealand’s Boating World, Classic Yacht Quarterly, and the New Zealand Herald. Her work includes the books:
She and her husband own the classic Logan yacht Iorangi, built for bibliophile Alexander Turnbull in 1901, sailing and racing her whenever possible.
